Kentaro Miura, creator of the manga Berserk, passed away at the age of 54. According to the ANN website, the mangaka passed away on May 6th at 2:48 pm due to an acute aortic dissection and today the Hakusensha website officially announced.
Author Miura was born in 1966 and launched the manga Berserk in Hakusensha's Monthly Animal House magazine in 1989. However, its continuation was immortalized in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine.
Synopsis:
Set in a dark fantasy world inspired by medieval Europe, the story revolves around the loner Guts, a former mercenary and now a cursed swordsman forced to wander restlessly to survive and seek revenge, and Griffith, the leader of a band of mercenaries called the "Band of the Hawk".
Thus, the work adapted an anime series in 1997, as well as a trilogy of films between 2012 and 2013. In 2016, a new anime was released that premiered in Japan in July of the same year, with its second part released in April 2017.
Ultimately, Miura's work sold over 40 million copies and inspired three anime series and a film trilogy.
