Arc System Works has released a new trailer for Kill la Kill IF, a game based on the Kill la Kill franchise, showcasing the characters Ryūko Matoi and Satsuki Kiryūin. The game is being developed in collaboration with Studio Trigger.

Arc System Works will release the game for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Japan on July 25, and in North America on July 26. PQube will release the game in Europe on the same date.

The anime's screenwriter, Kazuki Nakashima, returned to write the game's original story, which was written as "another episode" of the anime. The game's "IF" story diverges from the anime's storyline and includes new content. The game's protagonist will be Satsuki Kiryūin, rival and ally of the original anime's protagonist, Ryūko Matoi. The game will feature another story mode with Ryūko Matoi. After players defeat Satsuki's story, Ryūko's story scenario will be unlocked. Ryūko's story mode also features an original story.

Other playable characters in Kill la Kill IF include Ryuko Matoi, Ira Gamagoori, Uzu Sanageyama, Houka Inumuta, Nonon Jakuzure, Ragyō Kiryūin, and Nui Harime. The game will add the playable characters Mako Mankanshoku and Ultimate Double Naked DTR as free downloadable content this summer.
