The manga Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) has surpassed One Piece in sales in Japan.
What made the manga a sales success was the anime , which pleased fans worldwide, with mentions of episode 19 which went viral, giving the work great prominence.
Even so, the success was so great that as the months passed, the manga's sales figures approached those of One Piece , thus leaving its historical mark. Sales figures for 2019 totaled over 200,000 copies sold. Despite One Piece not having bad sales figures.
About the anime Kimetsu no Yaiba:
The animation is entirely by studio ufotable (Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai), the direction is by Haruo Sotozaki (Tales of Zestiria the X), and the character design is by Akira Matsushima (Tales of Zestiria the X).
Finally, a feature film has been confirmed for 2020 and will premiere in theaters, based on the " Demon Train Arc ," the 7th story arc, spanning chapters 52 to 66.
