The manga Kindergarten Wars (Yōchien Wars), by You Chiba , will receive a TV anime adaptation. The news came along with the first promotional image and the announcement of the main voice cast.
Actress Atsumi Tanezaki (the voice of Anya Forger in SPY x FAMILY ) will voice the protagonist Rita , while Kentaro Kumagai will be responsible for the voice of Doug . The author celebrated the news with enthusiasm and thanked the fans who have supported the work so far. According to him, more information will be released gradually.
Synopsis:
The story introduces Rita , also known as Prisoner 999, a legendary former assassin who now works at a very peculiar kindergarten: the place houses the children of world leaders. Her mission is to protect them from assassins sent to kidnap or eliminate them. However, despite her overwhelming strength, Rita harbors an unexpected weakness—she has a soft spot for handsome men.
The manga began serialization in Shonen Jump+ in September 2022 and already has 15 volumes released as of August 2025. Yen Press publishes the series in English, expanding the work's reach to readers outside of Japan.
