The film Whoever Steals This Book ( Kono Hon wo Nusumu Mono ) got a new official trailer this Thursday (31). However, the release will take place on December 26, 2026 in Japanese cinemas.
Daiki Fukuoka will direct Yasuhiro Nakanishi will write the script Keiko Kurosawa will handle character designs and Michiru Oshima will compose the soundtrack Kagokan produce the series Yuji Higa Animation will handle distribution .
Synopsis
The story follows Mifuyu , a high school student born into a family of book collectors. Despite living surrounded by literature, she has an aversion to books. However, everything changes when a thief breaks into the Mikura Hall—a library founded by her great-grandfather—and triggers an ancient curse.
Originally published by Kadokawa Shoten in October 2020, the work received a paperback edition in 2023 under the Kadokawa Bunko imprint. Additionally, it was adapted into a manga illustrated by Kakeru Sora , published in Young Ace between 2021 and 2023.
