The film Whoever Steals This Book ( Kono Hon wo Nusumu Mono ) got a new official trailer this Thursday (31). However, the release takes place on December 26, 2026 in cinemas in Japan.
Daiki Fukuoka will direct the film , with a script by Yasuhiro Nakanishi Keiko Kurosawa will be responsible for character design and Michiru Oshima will compose the soundtrack Kagokan will be the studio responsible for production, with Yuji Higa Animation . Distribution will be handled by Kadokawa Animation .
Synopsis
The story follows Mifuyu , a high school student born into a family of book collectors. Despite being surrounded by literature, she has an aversion to books. However, everything changes when a thief breaks into Mikura Hall—a library founded by her great-grandfather—and activates an ancient curse.
Originally published by Kadokawa Shoten in October 2020, the work received a paperback edition in 2023 by the Kadokawa Bunko imprint. Additionally, it gained a manga version illustrated by Kakeru Sora , published in Young Ace between 2021 and 2023.
