The announcement came with a commemorative trailer for the series' 2nd anniversary, celebrating the continued success of the adaptation based on Natsu Hyuuga .
Season 3 arrives in 2026 with a brand new story
The new arc of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto will consist of two parts divided into two cours , with the first premiering in October 2026 and the second in April 2027. Akinori Fudesaka continues as director , returning after the success of the second season. Now, the plot moves out of the imperial palace and takes Maomao and Jinshi to the heart of the city, where they will face new intrigues and unexpected dangers.

Furthermore, the Kusuriya no Hitorigoto movie will premiere in December 2026 , with a completely new story written by the author himself, Natsu Hyuuga . Production will be handled by Noriyuki Naganuma , who directed and wrote the scripts for the previous seasons.
Meanwhile, the franchise will also have traveling exhibitions across Asia , starting in Hong Kong, as well as a major special exhibition in Japan in August 2026 featuring the main cast.
