About Maomao: The daughter of an apothecary who lives on the outskirts of the city, Maomao works for a brothel in the capital and its courtesans. After being kidnapped by bandits and sold to the Imperial Palace for profit, she is inadvertently drawn into palace intrigues, using her knowledge of poisons, medicine, plants, and basic chemistry to become an unofficial forensic pathologist, as well as acting as a lady-in-waiting and poison taster for one of the emperor's concubines. Although Jinshi is in love with her, his feelings are not reciprocated, and he is frequently the target of her disdainful gaze due to her involvement in palace conspiracies.
Synopsis:
The story takes place in a large country in the middle of the continent. We meet Mao-mao, a young woman who works as a pharmacist in a Hanamachi (a neighborhood with many brothels). But her life changes when she is kidnapped and sold as a servant to the palace. However, she hides the fact that she is a pharmacist, working very quietly, waiting for the new year to arrive. One day, however, she hears a rumor from a coworker that the emperor's children are dying one after another.
Thus, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (Diaries of an Apothecary) began its publication in October 2011 in Shousetsuka ni Narou. Eventually, the novel had two manga simultaneously.
