Therefore, the direction of the first season was handled by Norihiro Naganuma at OLM and TOHO Animation STUDIO. The script was by Shinotoko and the character design was by Yukiko Nakatani.
Synopsis:
The story takes place in a large country in the middle of the continent. We meet Mao-mao, a young woman who works as a pharmacist in a Hanamachi (a neighborhood with many brothels). But her life changes when she is kidnapped and sold as a servant to the palace. She hides the fact that she is a pharmacist, working very quietly, waiting for the new year to arrive. One day, however, she hears a rumor from a coworker that the emperor's children are dying one after another, and using her knowledge of pharmacy, she discovers the cause.
Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (Diaries of an Apothecary), now dubbed, began its publication in October 2011 in Shousetsuka ni Narou and in physical format began its publication in August 2014. Finally, the novel had two manga simultaneously, the first by Nekokurage published in Big Gangan and the second by Minoki Kurata published in Sunday Gene-X.
