Episode 12 of Lazarus , released on June 22nd, shows the team members at their breaking point. However, now more than ever, they are truly close to finding Dr. Skinner. Furthermore, Elaina discovers surprising information about the scientist's location.
At the beginning of the episode, everyone seems to be on edge. Doug, after being captured in Pakistan, is taken to the hospital. After Soryu confronts Axel, both are injured. However, Chris saves the protagonist, who is in critical condition, and takes him to the hospital. Meanwhile, Elaina, who seems to be starting to feel the first symptoms of Hapuna, meets Lin, the Popcorn Wizard hacker, and discovers Skinner's location.
Lin reveals Skinner's location to Elaina
Lin, who is assisting Dr. Skinner, tells Elaina that she was born on an island near the Maldives and suffers from analgesia. She explains that the scientist bought the island she lived on, even knowing it would sink, and thanks to his money, the people managed to move on and leave the island. Therefore, she promised to help him, even if it cost her life. Furthermore, Lin believes there is a plausible reason behind what Skinner did.

Lin says she has Skinner's location and that he authorized her to share it with anyone who could find it. Finally, the anime reveals that, from the beginning, Skinner has been in a homeless community, the same one shown in episode 3. For those who wish to revisit the scene, it happens at minute 07:42.

Team Lazarus faces some obstacles along the way
The hacker Dr. 909, who appeared in the same episode as stockbroker Sam Stephenson, contributes to the Lazarus team in exchange for a reduced sentence. In this way, he tries to find information about Soryu, who was hired by the army to capture Axel. During the search, they discover that HQ, the man who acted as the assassin's agent, is Soryu himself, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder.
Besides finding the scientist, the team also needs to confront the army, which seems determined to eliminate Lazarus at all costs. There's also Soryu, who hasn't given up on capturing and killing Axel. However, the group only has one day to find Skinner and discover if there really is a cure for Hapuna, and, for now, that will be the team's priority.

Throughout the episodes, the Lazarus lost its momentum. The chapters presented a repetitive and somewhat tiresome formula. However, now that the team knows that Skinner is in the homeless community, it is likely that the next episode, the last of the first season of the anime, will reveal the scientist's motives for creating Hapuna and explain if there really is a cure. Episode 13 will be released next Sunday, the 29th, on the HBO Max streaming platform.
