A new leak has stirred up the Pokémon community this week by revealing a list of 26 supposed Mega Evolutions that may be present in Pokémon Legends: ZA. The game, which still has no official release date, takes place in the Kalos region and promises to bring back one of the most beloved mechanics among players: Mega Evolutions, originally introduced in the sixth generation. Lumiose City, a symbol of the X and Y era, also makes an appearance, reinforcing the nostalgic connection that the new title intends to explore.

According to information from the specialized profile Centro Leaks, known for frequently anticipating news about the franchise, the highlight of the list is the presence of unprecedented forms for monsters from various generations.

The Kalos region leads with ten new representatives, including the three starters — Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja. This choice reinforces the central role of the setting in the game's design, strengthening the storyline and the battle system.

The diversity of regions influences the choices and raises hypotheses about the balance in the metagame

In addition to Kalos, the Unova region is represented by six evolutions, including Mega Chandelure and Mega Excadrill. Kanto, the birthplace of the franchise, contributes four names — Mega Dragonite and Mega Victreebell being the main ones.

Johto, Sinnoh, Alola, and Galar also appear on the list, although with less prominence. The presence of Mega Froslass, Mega Drampa, and Mega Falinks suggests an intention to maintain variety among types and fighting styles, signaling a possible restructuring of the competitive metagame.

However, despite the positive feedback, the absence of names like Milotic, Flygon, and Togekiss did not go unnoticed. Flygon, in particular, returned to the center of discussions among fans because it had already been considered for a Mega Evolution in the sixth generation, but that never happened. Thus, the exclusion of Pokémon from the Hoenn region, considered a favorite by a significant portion of the player base, also generated criticism on social media.

Unconfirmed leak sparks debate among fans and maintains mystery about final content

The list has not yet been confirmed by The Pokémon Company, which keeps the content in the realm of rumors. However, the track record of accuracy of the profile responsible for the leak reinforces the credibility of the material released. On the other hand, the immediate impact of the content shows how much the return of Mega Evolutions excites fans, who see in the mechanic a strategic and visual advantage.

Among the listed highlights are familiar names and some unexpected ones. Mega Zygarde, Mega Eternal Flower Floette, and Mega Malamar reinforce the connection to the more complex storylines of the Kalos region. However, Mega Scrafty, Mega Barbaracle, and Mega Hawlucha indicate a more comprehensive look at the available types and their applications in battles. Thus, the balance between offensive power and defensive tactics seems to be one of the bets of the new game.
