There's always someone talking good or bad about black cats, and if they're in anime, it's even worse. Even more so in the Middle Ages, when black cats to be witches transformed into animals, there's a superstition that crossing paths with a black cat is a sign of great bad luck.
Soon after, in Egypt, cats were associated with the goddess Bastet or Ailuros (Greek for cat), who was adorned with gold and painted black. A solar deity and goddess of fertility, as well as protector of pregnant women, she had the head of a cat and a basket in which she placed her young.

Finally, let's meet some black cats that are present in anime and show that bad luck has nothing to do with the color of their fur.

1- Blair – Soul Eater
Coming from the manga Bake Neko (Cat Monster), who partly appears as a witch and has great magical powers. Her attacks and defenses are Halloween-themed.
She's always looking for fun, likes to flirt with Soul and take her clothes off in front of people (cats don't normally wear clothes), and loves taking baths.
2 – Kuro – Ao no Exorcist
He's also a Bake Neko, with two tails, which makes him a Nekotama and gives him great powers. Kuro can grow quite large and sometimes carries someone on his back.
He met Rin when he was furious, disbelieving that Shiro, who adopted him after his home was abandoned and destroyed, had died. Rin was able to understand Kuro and calm him down, after which Kuro became Rin's familiar.
Playful and full of energy, as he is constantly seen around Rin, as he doesn't like to be alone.
3- Pantherlily – Fairy Tail
He is an Exceed from Edolas, on the other hand he was the commander of the First Division of the Royal Army, he joined Fairy Tail when he became Gajeel's partner.
He is serious and hates loud people. He is tough and sensible, but afraid of thunder. Most of the time, he looks like the other Exceeds, but he assumes a battle form , in which his body resembles a muscular man, and he likes to use weapons.
4- Luna – Sailor Moon
Luna was originally a humanoid, but adopted the Moon Kingdom as her home. She was found by Usagi (better known as Serena). She revealed that Serena is a Sailor Moon and discovered the other sailors.
Luna is also very perceptive, quite responsible regarding her work, but she gets easily irritated by Usagi's daydreams, to the point of threatening to scratch her face.
5- Yoruichi – Bleach
She is the former captain of the Gotei 13's 2nd Division, as well as the former commander of the Onmitsukidō. In short, she is the only Shinigami with the ability to transform into a cat.
When in cat form, she has a masculine voice; her true form surprised Ichigo greatly, as she appeared naked. Even as a cat, she can still use her spiritual energy and run at great speed. Intelligent, witty, knowledgeable about Soul Society, and fond of drinking milk.

Recently in the manga she had cat-like behavior during a fight even without being transformed, she had mood swings, which Urahara defined as “weather”.
6 – Kaya – Gakkou no Kaidan
Satsuki's pet cat also ended up having a demon named Amanojaku sealed in its body.
Initially, Amanojaku takes pleasure in seeing children in trouble, but as the series progresses, he develops a protective feeling towards them, especially Satsuki and Keiichirou.
7- Kuroneko – Trigun
This black cat appears in every episode of the anime and randomly in the manga. It doesn't have much relevance to the story.
The author, Nightow, stated that it is just something easy and calming to draw between action scenes.
