The official website for the second season of the Log Horizon anime has released a trailer revealing that all animation is now being handled by Studio DEEN .

The first season was animated by Studio Satelight and consisted of approximately 25 episodes. The new season will premiere in Japan on October 4th on the NHK channel.

Shinji Ishihira is returning to direct the series with composition by Toshizo Nemoto. Tetsuya Kumagai (Tamayura) will handle character design. Masakazu Miyake (Humanity Diminished) is replacing Yuki Nomura as art director, and Imari Katsuragi (Pupa) is replacing Tomomi Murakami as color designer.

Log Horizon is a Japanese light novel series written by Mamare Touno. It was originally posted on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2010 and later published by Enterbrain, starting in March 2011. The series follows strategist Shiroe and other players of the long-running MMORPG Elder Tale, shortly after they find themselves trapped inside the game after updating it.

Finally, the Log Horizon novel has received four manga adaptations, one based on the main story and three others involving other characters from the series. An anime adaptation began airing on NHK Educational.
