A new promotional image for the anime Luminous Witches (Renmei Kūgun Kōkū Mahō Ongakutai) has been revealed. According to the website, the new series will arrive in mid-2021.
The animation is being produced by Studio SHAFT (Madoka Magica, Monogatari), directed by Shouji Saeki (Medaka Box), and produced by Koichi Yasuda.
Synopsis: The anime Luminous Witches follows a unique squad of "witches who don't fight." Instead, the squad sings to protect the smiles of those who have been driven from their hometowns by the Neuroi.
Finally, in the main Strike Witches, the story takes place during an alien invasion by beings known as Neuroi. The only way to defeat them is through the Witches, girls with powers who are able to control Striker Units that enhance their abilities and allow them to maneuver in the air.
