It was announced at the Comiket 86 manga Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid is receiving an anime adaptation. Tsuzuki and Fujima launched the manga in Kadokawa Comp Ace magazine in May 2009, where the 12th compiled volume was released in July. The manga takes place four years after the JS incident in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Strikers, and stars Vivio Takamichi, a fourth-year elementary school student at St. Hilde Academy of Magic. Vivio learned to conjure her adult form and received her own device – called the Sacred Heart – from Nanoha, and promised Nanoha never to use it for evil. Then, a mysterious magical fighter appears and targets Vivio.
Tsuzuki's Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise includes three anime series, two films, manga, and numerous spinoffs. A third film, titled Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 3rd: Reflection, was listed in January as being scheduled for release this year.
