A new season of the anime Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei has been announced. According to reports, the new anime will premiere in the winter 2022 season.

Therefore, the adaptation is of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Tsuioku-hen (The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc).
The animation is by Studio 8-Bit, directed by Risako Yoshida , and Kana Ishida designs the characters.
Satou and Ishida began publishing the novel in July 2011, and it was soon adapted into a manga. The work inspired a 26-episode anime series adaptation by Madhouse , directed by Manabu Ono, in 2014. A film was later released in June 2017.
Finally, a second animated season by Studio 8-Bit was released in October 2020 with 13 episodes.
