Synopsis

Near the end of the Showa Era, in the late 1980s, in the city of Misaki, rumors circulate that an old mansion is the home of a witch. After moving into the mansion, Aoko Aozaki begins learning witchcraft from a young sorceress, Alice Kuonji, the supposed witch of the mansion. The Aozaki family oversees the land on which the city of Misaki was built, and the heiress (Aoko) is tasked with protecting it.

Mahoutsukai no Yoru was therefore one of the first collaborations between Kinoko Nasu and artist Takashi Takeuchi in the mid-90s, before the founding of Type-Moon. Initially a novel, Nasu and Takeuchi only showed the draft to friends and did not officially release it, so Type-Moon eventually developed it into a visual novel with graphics by Hirokazu Koyama, which was released in April 2012, with two planned sequels.

Finally, the game will receive a film produced by the studio ufotable .
