Synopsis
Near the end of the Showa Era, in the late 1980s, in the town of Misaki, an old mansion is rumored to be the home of a witch. After moving into the mansion, Aoko Aozaki begins learning sorcery from a young sorceress, Alice Kuonji, the mansion's supposed witch. The Aozaki family oversees the land on which Misaki City is built and the heiress (Aoko) is tasked with protecting it.
Mahoutsukai no Yoru was therefore one of the first collaborations between Kinoko Nasu and artist Takashi Takeuchi in the mid-90s, before the founding of Type-Moon. Initially a novel, Nasu and Takeuchi only showed the draft to friends and did not officially release it, so Type-Moon eventually developed it into a visual novel with graphics by Hirokazu Koyama that was released in April 2012, with two sequels planned.
Finally, the game will receive a film produced by the ufotable .
