The anime Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games (Tai Ari Deshita: Ojo-sama wa Kakuto Game Nante Shinai) has received a new main promotional video, revealing more cast members and previously unreleased snippets of the opening and ending theme songs. The series will premiere in Japan on July 7, 2026, after being delayed from its original 2025 release date.

New names strengthen the anime's cast

Among the new additions to the cast are Yumiri Hanamori as Hana Ichinose, Nobuyuki Hiyama as Gekido, Yohei Azakami as Cafe Au Lait, and Taku Yashiro as Seshiro. The anime will also feature commentator and professional gamer Aru, who will voice the match announcer Flamberge.

The main roles continue with Ikumi Hasegawa playing Aya Mitsuki and Kana Ichinose as Mio Yorue. Sayaka Senbongi, Shino Shimoji , and Maria Naganawa complete the central group of characters.

Gamer rivalry among elite youth

Based on the manga by Eri Ejima, the anime follows Aya, a scholarship student at a prestigious elite girls' academy. Everything changes when she discovers that her admired classmate Mio harbors an intense passion for competitive fighting games.

The production is handled by studio diomedéa, directed by Shota Ihata and with scripts by Wataru Watari. The band Hanabie. performs the opening theme “Inochi Mijikashi Tai Suru Otome yo!”, while halca sings the ending theme “New Game”.
