Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games Anime Premieres in July

The anime Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games (Tai Ari Deshita: Ojō-sama wa Kakutō Game Nante Shinai) has released a new teaser and confirmed its premiere for July 7th. The adaptation of manga 's Eri Ejima features more cast members and highlights the opening theme song performed by the band Hanabie.

Furthermore, the promotional video reveals the participation of Aru, a professional fighting game player and commentator, who will voice the character Flamberge. The production also confirmed broadcasts on channels such as AT-X, Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS NTV.

The main cast includes Ikumi Hasegawa as Aya Mitsuki and Kana Ichinose directs Shota Ihata at studio diomedéa, while Wataru Watari supervises the series scripts.

The character design is by Mayuko Matsumoto, with a soundtrack composed by Kana Hashiguchi. The team also includes experienced professionals in art direction, photography, and editing, reinforcing the technical care of the production.

The story blends elegance and fighting games

The story follows Aya, a scholarship student at the prestigious Kuromi Girls' Academy. There, she admires her classmate Shirayuri, known for her refined demeanor. However, everything changes when she discovers that the girl leads a secret life as a competitive fighting game player.

The adaptation was originally announced in 2021 and suffered delays until reaching its current release window. The manga was first published in 2020 in Monthly Comic Flapper's Kadokawaand is still ongoing.
