The return of Black Clover finally has a date. TV Tokyo announced that the second season of the anime based on Yuki Tabata 's manga will premiere in October 2026, marking the franchise's return after more than five years since the end of the first season.

New director takes over sequel
The direction will once again be in the hands of Ayataka Tanemura, the professional who directed episodes 153 to 170 of the original series and also directed the film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, released in 2023. In addition, Tanemura will participate in a special panel during Anime Expo 2026 alongside Gakuto Kajiwara, the voice actor for the protagonist Asta.
The event takes place between July 2nd and 5th in Los Angeles, and is expected to bring more news about the production.
Studio Pierrot returns to anime
Studio Pierrot will continue to animate the new season. Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the anime internationally. The first television adaptation aired between October 2017 and March 2021, totaling 170 episodes.
Created by Yuki Tabata, the manga began its publication in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2015 and moved to Jump Giga in 2023. The story follows Asta, a young man without magical powers who dreams of becoming the Wizard King in a world where magic determines people's destinies.
