In an interview with the Japanese magazine Newtype , about the anime Majo no Tabitabi , the author of the light novel, Jougi Shiraishi , revealed a peculiar request he made to the anime's staff.
Interview translated from English
“Question: What kind of interaction did you have with the animation team?
Shiraishi: The only thing I asked was 'Please don't show any underwear.' I would like this work to be seen by people of all ages, so we wanted to keep the audience broad. That is the only important request I have made of them.”
Despite being peculiar, it is a sensible request, as the majority of anime audiences are male, studios spare no effort in animating ecchi scenes. In a light adventure and fantasy work like Majo no Tabitabi, this would certainly depart from the story's original proposal.
Majo no Tabitabi premiered on October 2nd.
