Now, we decided to bring you one of the greatest authors of all time. We are talking about the great Makoto Shinkai who revolutionized Japanese screens with his wonderful works. Makoto Shinkai
Firstly, his real name is Makoto Niitsu who was born in Japan in 1973. In other words, he is currently 48 years old. Furthermore, he is the kind of person that we can call him a genius! Well, he is a true master of direction, animation and even stands out as a writer and screenwriter. In fact, he established himself in world cinema with his various works, as we will see below. Not to mention that he has already produced several short films, commercials and his novels .
Makoto Shinkai – Main Works
Byosoku Go-Senchimetoru: Here, we can start by highlighting this work that became known as 5 Centimeters per Second. Being released in 2007, but Makoto's success began much earlier, with Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho. However, I decided to start with this one because it is by far my favorite among them all. With a romance that is not at all fictional, or can I even say very real? Either way, this is by far one of the best-made works of romance of all time!
Kotonoha no Niwa: This one, released in 2013 as The Garden of Words, was a tremendous success. Therefore, it had an outstanding narrative and an engaging romance that was almost as tragic as the one above. In fact, it is worth highlighting Master Makoto's attention to developing all the characters in a unique way, leaving no room for holes or lack of personality. Anyway, if you haven't watched this one, go there now.
Kimi no Na wa: Here was definitely Makoto's biggest success to date! Your Name went viral around the world, making noise and bringing in a legion of fans in 2016! So, you've probably already seen this film and remember it to this day, even though it's been more than 4 years. With that, I recommend watching this fantastic work of romance and fiction that touched the world again.
Tenki no Ko: Now, to finish our list, let's talk about the master's most recent work. This was launched in 2019 and was also a tremendous success. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning the ending, which is surreal and makes us reflect on what really matters. To avoid giving unnecessary spoilers, go and watch this phenomenal work now.
Conclusion
Anyway, we still have several successful works by Makoto Shinkai such as Journey to Agartha or The Promised Place in Our Youth. But, we decided to stick to their best films. In fact, it's worth highlighting the sensational work he always does, highlighting the animation, which is always a strong point of his, and the script, which never leaves anything to be desired.
