Tatsuya Matsuki, author of the manga , confessed to his crime of abuse committed against a minor, a sentence of one year and six months was then stipulated, however, the author's defense is still trying to reduce this sentence.
If the defense's request is accepted, Tatsuya will not serve a prison sentence, as long as he maintains good conduct during the suspension period.
The defendant told the court that he harbored many worries and anxieties, but couldn't talk about them and became desperate. He also added that he has a complex with women. He also said there's no way to apologize for what he did to the victim.
Tatsuya was indicted for the second of two indecent acts. The prosecution did not indict Tatsuya for the first incident, which allegedly occurred on June 18th at around 8:00 p.m. (one hour before the second incident).
The editors of Weekly Shonen Jump announced on August 10 that they had canceled the manga's serialization. The chapter that appeared in this year's combined 36th and 37th issues is the final chapter. Shueisha has also ceased sales and distribution of the manga's physical and digital volumes.
Tatsuya launched the act-age manga together with Usazaki in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2018. The manga was nominated for the 43rd Kodansha Manga of the Year Award last year.
