The cover of the September issue of Kodansha 's Monthly Shonen Magazine Marimo Ragawa 's Mashiro no Oto manga will get an anime adaptation in April 2021.
Synopsis
The story follows a girl who meets a boy on the street with a peculiar instrument. This encounter between a hopeful idol singer and a player of the shamisen, a traditional Japanese three-stringed instrument, takes them both on a journey to discover their figurative and literal voices.
Ragawa launched the manga in Monthly Shonen Magazine in December 2009. Kodansha published the manga's 25th volume on May 15. In fact, Mashiro no Oto was nominated for the 23rd annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural last year.
The manga is celebrating 10 years of serialization this year and to celebrate, Kodansha published a promotional video of an animation from the manga in May.

Furthermore, Ragawa also serialized the manga Baby & Me, with 18 volumes between 1991-1997. The manga inspired an anime adaptation in 1996 through 1997 and a live-action Korean film in 2008.
Lastly, Mashiro no oto also won the 36th Kodansha Award for Best Shonen and an “Excellence Award” at the 16th Japan Media Arts Festival.
