Metal Slug, the classic action franchise from SNK, celebrated its 30th anniversary with a special commemorative video. The video revisits moments from the series and concludes with a direct teaser: "a new mission awaits," suggesting new developments.

The company also launched an official website dedicated to the celebration and confirmed an anniversary project. According to the statement, the initiative seeks to revitalize the franchise with different actions, including the development of new games to expand the brand's reach.

Originally released on April 19, 1996 for NEOGEO arcades, Metal Slug stood out for its run-and-gun style, simple controls, and detailed pixel art visuals. The series quickly gained recognition and became a benchmark in the 2D action genre.
