MF GHOST: Image reveals that the 2nd season premieres this year

The second season of the anime MF GHOST (sequel to Initial D) has received a promotional image. On social media, we learned that the anime will debut this year.

Therefore, the announcement of the second season took place in December 2023, with the end of the series. So the first season is available on Amazon Prime and the Japanese streaming service Lemino .

Directed by Tomohito Naka at animation studio Felix Film ( Aharen-san wa Hakarenai ), scripts by Kenichi Yamashita and Akihiko Inari with character designer by Naoyuki Onda .

Synopsis

The series takes place in 2020, when automatic cars predominate in Japan. The story follows Kanata Livington, a young driver who returns to Japan after being the best student in his class at a racing school in England. But to find his missing father, he takes part in the MFG, a racing competition on public roads that has become known throughout the world.

MF Ghost was published in Weekly Young Magazine in September 2017. Finally, Hiragi is also the author of the popular Initial D which was published in the same magazine between July 1995 and July 2013.
