What to expect from the live-action Mieruko-chan?
Based on the horror-comedy manga by Tomoki Izumi, the story follows Miko, a high school student who suddenly develops the ability to see grotesque and frightening ghosts in her daily routine. Despite her overwhelming fear, Miko tries to ignore them at all costs, pretending nothing is happening and maintaining a seemingly normal life.
Fans of the series can expect a faithful adaptation of the manga's tense and fun atmosphere, with humor to balance the scares. However, the series received an anime adaptation in October 2021 with 12 episodes animated by Passione .
Finally, Tomoki Izumi writes and illustrates the work. Kadokawa has been publishing the manga chapters online on the ComicWalker website since November 2018 and has already released eleven tankōbon volumes.
