Fans received confirmation on social media that the anime will be getting a new season. Without giving out many details, the production team announced that it will be a sequel.

Minami-ke (The Minami Family) is a manga created by Koharu Sakuraba, who is also the author of Kyo no Gononi. However, the manga gained a large following, resulting in several anime adaptations.

Minami-ke Synopsis:

The story revolves around the daily lives of the three Minami sisters: Haruka, Kana, and Chiaki. Each of them has a distinct personality, adding a special touch to their daily interactions at home, school, junior high, or high school. The anime features episodes with varying themes, without a specific end goal, similar to other anime such as Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, and School Rumble. However, the series stands out for its more serious and adult themes, offering a unique and engaging perspective on the lives of these three sisters.

Therefore, the first season of the anime, animated by Dōmu Studio, premiered on October 7, 2007. Then, the second season, produced by Asread Studio, aired on January 6, 2008, titled "Minami-ke: Okawari". Finally, Asread Studio animated the third season, titled "Minami-ke: Okaeri", which began airing on January 9, 2009.
