The highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Naruto has taken another important step in its production. The franchise's official website confirmed that Lionsgate has begun a global casting call to find the actors to play Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke , and Haruno Sakura. Further casting announcements for other characters will be made in the future.

The series creator, Masashi Kishimoto, celebrated the news with enthusiasm. In a message released by the franchise, the author stated that he considers the adaptation a true miracle and highlighted his anticipation to meet the actors who will bring the characters to life on the big screen. According to Kishimoto, Destin Daniel Cretton's involvement as director makes the project even more special.

Production continues to advance

The live-action Naruto film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work on Shang-Chi. The production also includes Avi Arad, Ari Arad, Emmy Yu , and Jeremy Latcham. The most recent script is associated with writer Tasha Huo, according to information previously released by the American press.

Launched in 1999 in Weekly Shonen Jump, Naruto follows the journey of a young ninja who dreams of becoming Hokage, the leader of his village. Ultimately, the series became a global phenomenon, spawning anime, films, games, novels, and the sequel Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
