Netflix has finally revealed the first teaser for the second season of the live-action One Piece , highlighting the debut of the beloved Tony Tony Chopper .

The crew's little doctor will be played by Mikaela Hoover , who not only lends his voice to the character but also participates in the facial capture. As announced, the new season will arrive on the platform in 2026, ending the mystery surrounding Chopper's presence.

Chopper's new journey continues until the end of Drum Island

Previously, in August 2024, Eiichiro Oda himself confirmed that the next phase of the series will adapt the events of Loguetown up to the end of Drum Island . Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting official images of the crew's mascot. Although a preview of the character was released in September of the same year, its full design has only now been revealed.

Furthermore, Oda shared a special message to celebrate the moment, as is customary with major announcements from the franchise. According to him, the new season is poised to exceed all expectations.

New cast and behind-the-scenes details surprise

Furthermore, Netflix has confirmed over 20 new characters in the storyline. Among the highlights are Crocodile, Vivi, and Nico Robin , as well as Rigo Sanchez as Dragon , Yonda Thomas as Igaram , and Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek .

According to the manga's creator, the casting was "perfect," bringing even more depth to the adaptation.

Changes in production and future plans

However, an unexpected event occurred: showrunner Matt Owens announced his departure from the production. He justified the decision as a necessary break to take care of his mental health after the pressure of filming.

Even though Owens left the project, actor Joe Manganiello — cast as Mr. 0 (Crocodile) — confirmed that filming for the 3rd season will begin later this year. Therefore, the live-action One Piece universe continues full steam ahead.
