The Armored Trooper VOTOMS franchise has just gained a new chapter. The brand-new anime Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Gray Witch (Hexe) has been officially announced as part of the Sunrise studio's 50th-anniversary celebrations .

This time, the project is drawing attention because of the team involved. Mamoru Oshii ( Ghost in the Shell ) will direct , while Sunrise will produce the animation , with support from Production IG . Therefore, expectations among fans of classic mecha are already high.
Originally created by Ryosuke Takahashi, VOTOMS made its mark by presenting a more realistic approach to the genre. Since 1983, the work has spawned TV series, OVAs, films, and derivative materials. However, this will be the first completely new production in the franchise in about 15 years.
Furthermore, an official visual and a first promotional video have already been revealed, indicating a denser and more mature tone. Thus, Gray Witch promises to respect the legacy of the series while presenting a new narrative perspective.
