Warner Brothers has officially announced that the live-action adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa 's Fullmetal Alchemist is set to premiere in Japan in winter 2017. Filming is scheduled to begin in Italy in early June and will conclude in Japan in the second half of August.
As we reported before , the film will star Ryosuke Yamada , Nagisa in the live-action Assassination Classroom, as Edward Elric ;
Tsubasa Honda , live-action Blue Spring Ride as Futaba , as Winry Rockbell (top right of the image below);
Dean Fujioka , live-action Happy Marriage!?, as Roy Mustang (bottom left of the photo);
Yasuko Matsuyuki as Lust . (bottom right)
Fumihiko Sori (live-action Ping Pong) , the film's director, said: "I want to create a style that follows the original manga as closely as possible. The cast is entirely Japanese, but the cultural background is European. However, it's a style that doesn't represent a specific race or country."
