This is for Pokémon fans: CoroCoro has announced new details about the production of the XY movie, titled Hakai no Mayu (Cocoon of Destruction), the 17th film in the franchise and the first in the saga to feature Xerneas and Yveltal.
The feature film will include a new legendary Pokémon (number 719) called Diancie, of the Fairy and Rock type. As it will be the protagonist, the film's title has been changed to Pokémon YX: Hakai no Mayu to Dianshī (Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction). The new Pokémon can use the "Clear Body" ability, and can also learn attacks such as "Hyper Beam" and "Explosion".
The plot will depict an "epic battle" between Xerneas and Yveltal. Several legendary and well-known Pokémon will make appearances in the film.
Directed by Kunihiko Yuyama, Pokémon YX: Hakai no Mayu premieres on July 19th in Japanese theaters.
