During Gamescom 2013, the game Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII received a new trailer showing the protagonist encountering new and old characters from the series.

In the game Lightning Returns , the main character will have to save the world in just 13 days, and will feature revamped mechanics and a vast environment for exploration. The game will be released in the US on February 11, 2014, with versions for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
