NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a – New video reveals the anime's premiere date

The official website for the NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a released a new promotional video this Sunday.

The video highlights action scenes with 2B and 9S, and also reveals more members of the technical team and the anime's premiere date of January 7th.

The newly announced team members include:

NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a will premiere in January 2023.

Ryouji Masuyama (Blend S, Hello WeGo!) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures; in addition, Masuyama is also responsible for the series composition alongside Yokou Tarou from the original game. Jun Nakai is designing the characters and acting as animation director. MONACA is composing the music.

Synopsis

NieR:Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S, and A2 and their battle to reclaim the machine-ruled dystopia invaded by powerful machines.
Humanity was then driven from Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a final effort to reclaim the planet, the human resistance sends a force of android soldiers to destroy the invaders. Now, a war between machines and androids continues… A war that may soon reveal a long-forgotten truth about the world.

NieR:Automata was released for PlayStation 4 in Japan in February 2017, followed by North America and Europe in March 2017. Additionally, Square Enix also released the game on PC via Steam in March 2017 and on Xbox One in June 2018. The game was then released on Nintendo Switch on October 6th. The game has a combined number of shipments and digital download sales of over 6 million.
