Nintendo has confirmed the return of its enigmatic testing program linked to the Nintendo Switch Online service. This time, the experiment gains an unprecedented detail: it will also be compatible with the recently released Switch 2. Nintendo will open registrations next week and is expected to excite the gaming community, even with the limitation of only 40,000 places worldwide.

- Genshin Impact 5.8: Live codes and how to redeem them
Nintendo made the program available in October 2024, with very restricted access and under total confidentiality. Now, it returns under the same secrecy conditions, with new possibilities for users of the new generation of consoles.

Nintendo will allow registration for members who subscribe to the Expansion Pack plan
Participation is restricted to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers with the Expansion Pack add-on. Additionally, applicants must be over 18 years of age and reside in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, or Spain.
Individual or group applications can be submitted between July 21st and 23rd. The testing phase will take place between July 29th and August 11th, thus offering approximately two weeks of access to exclusive content.
Nintendo reinforces absolute secrecy regarding the content tested
The Japanese company reiterated in its official statement that participants should not share any information about the content being tested, whether through screenshots, videos, or descriptions. In 2024, Nintendo even used copyright notices to remove leaked images from social media.
However, despite these measures, some evidence from the previous test is still circulating online. Records indicate that players compared the secret game to a Nintendo version inspired by Minecraft, focusing on creating structures in shared environments.
We will perform another test in the #NintendoSwitchOnline : Playtest Program. From 8:00 AM PT on July 21st, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can apply to participate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Expectations revolve around new features and improved gameplay
The gaming community is now eagerly awaiting any hints of new features. Although the test appears to reuse the same software from the previous year, it is speculated that the current version will bring improvements to the gaming experience and new functionalities, especially adapted to the processing power of the Switch 2.
Therefore, the return of the program further fuels rumors about future Nintendo projects involving creative and collaborative experiences. Even shrouded in mystery, the interest surrounding the test shows how the brand continues to spark curiosity and engagement with unconventional proposals.
