adaptation anime of Now That We Draw (Kakunaru Ue wa), a work by Kyu Takahata and illustrated by Yuji Kaba, has been officially announced. Furthermore, a teaser visual, a teaser trailer, and the first production details reveal that studio ROLL2 is handling the animation. The announcement was accompanied by a special artwork created by Kaba to celebrate the news.
The story follows Uehara Yuuki, a shy student who dreams of publishing a perfect romantic comedy. However, his editor criticizes the manga for its "lack of realism," causing Yuuki to doubt his own talent. Meanwhile, his classmate and aspiring manga artist, Miyamoto Niina, faces similar criticism. Therefore, she suggests something unexpected: the two should start a fake relationship to better understand the romance they want to portray.

Furthermore, their contrasting personalities make everything even more chaotic. On the other hand, this coexistence reveals insecurities, flaws, and discoveries that can transform their manga—and their lives. Thus, the anime promises humor, creative conflicts, and awkward situations that can win over fans of school romantic comedies.
Finally, the confirmed cast includes Ayumu Murase and Sayumi Suzushiro in the lead roles.
