Zoro would be Japanese, Sanji French, Nami Swiss, and Usopp African! Now, Chopper would be Canadian, Franky North American, Brook Austrian, and Robin Russian! On the other hand, we don't know anything about Jinbe, the newest member of the crew.

Eiichiro Oda Gets Emotional: In short, our great master and creator of One Piece also confessed to crying while drawing the farewell scene from Going Merry! Furthermore, he confesses to getting emotional when writing any sad or melancholic scene. But this shouldn't be a secret, because who hasn't cried like a child when watching one of the sad scenes in the work?

So, it's certainly impossible not to remember our dear Roger's last words. And all this reference and duality with real life is simply beautiful and inspiring. It's certainly a great reference, and few knew it.

Origin of the Shichibukai

Now, to round off our list, did you know that the Shichibukai system was also inspired by real life? It's worth mentioning that the British navy used to hire pirates to rob other countries and other pirates. In other words, it's very similar to the services provided by the Shichibukai in the anime.
