@Sandman_AP profile recovered an old interview with Eiichiro Oda, in which he discusses his health problems. According to the information, in 2022, he spoke about his habit of going a few days without eating and gaining a lot of weight when he resumed eating. The mangaka's doctor then warned him about his high blood pressure, but Oda didn't consider it a major problem.

“The biggest change since starting One Piece has been my weight. I work without eating for a few days and then eat everything at once when I'm done, so I gain a lot of weight. My doctor has been warning me about my blood pressure being very high, but I don't think it's a big problem.”

Synopsis:

The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a rubber body after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (the Rubber Fruit). Inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Red-Haired Shanks, he becomes a pirate and sets sail across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the Pirate King.
