It has been officially announced that Eiichiro Oda's much-loved manga “One Piece” has been listed in the Guinness Book of Records as “The comic book series with the most copies published by a single author”, with 320,866,000 copies printed as of December 2014.
The first volume hit Japanese newsstands in 1997, today the manga has 77 volumes to date.
A ceremony for the presentation and delivery of the Guinness certificate was held today (15/06) at Tokyo One Piece Tower and featured a presentation by cosplayers inspired by the franchise. Author Eiichiro Oda was unable to be present and Shonen Jump editor-in-chief Yoshihisa Heishi was his representative at the event.
