In chapter 1087 of One Piece, the manga returned to the battle between Garp's marines and Blackbeard's pirates on Hachinosu. While civilians were being rescued, Garp fought alone against Blackbeard's Titanic Captains. Although he had the advantage in strength, the Marine Hero began to take a lot of damage in the fight.
Koby ends up falling into a trap, so Garp steps in front of his disciple to take Shiryu's attack. Shortly after being stabbed, he receives a brutal punch from his former apprentice, Aokiji. As the fight continues, the marines' situation only worsens, and Garp becomes increasingly injured. Thus, it seems that Luffy's grandfather is being prepared to die in the future, just as Ace was.
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a body made of rubber after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (Rubber Fruit). He was inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Shanks the Red-Haired, to become a pirate and sail on a journey across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the King of the Pirates.
