In One Piece chapter 1087, the manga returned to the battle between Garp's Marines and Blackbeard's Pirates in Hachinosu. While the civilians were being rescued, Garp fought alone against Blackbeard's Titan Captains. Although he had the advantage in strength, the Marine Hero began to take heavy damage in the fight.
Koby ends up falling into a trap, so Garp steps in front of his disciple to receive Shiryu's attack. Shortly after being stabbed, he receives a brutal punch from his former apprentice, Aokiji. As the fight drags on, the Marines' situation only worsens, and Garp becomes increasingly injured. Thus, it seems that Luffy's grandfather is being prepared to die in the future, just as Ace was.
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a rubber body after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (the Rubber Fruit). Inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Red-Haired Shanks, he becomes a pirate and sets sail across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the Pirate King.
