The official Twitter for Eiichiro Oda 's One Piece manga revealed that it will take a break for a month while the author prepares for the 25th anniversary and the work's “final saga”.
The manga will take a break in the 30th issue of Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump from June 27th until the 33rd issue. The series will return in the 34th issue of the magazine on July 25th.
Publisher Shueisha published the magazine's 27th issue this Monday, which means the manga still has two more chapters before the break begins.
Oda stated in a comment that several months ago several people warned him that this summer would be very difficult due to the debut of One Piece Film Red in theaters, the manga's 25th anniversary in July, and the end of the Wano arc are all coinciding.
These same people suggested that Oda take a break for about a month, but Oda was against it at first. but he later said that he really needed some time to prepare, and so is taking a break.
