celebrate the launch of the new One Piece series, Netflix took Iñaki Godoy, the role of Monkey D. Luffy , to meet Eiichiro Oda in person. The two are super excited to meet each other and to work together in the live-action film.

Netflix 's official profile Shueisha 's headquarters and meeting the original voice of Luffy, Mayumi Tanaka . However, Netflix went a step further at the next point of the trip, taking Godoy to meet Oda.
The One Piece creator is known for not appearing in person in interviews, but it seems he made an exception to meet Luffy's role. While Godoy says he is honored by this opportunity, Oda emphasizes that he was the perfect choice for the protagonist role from the beginning.
Anyway, the main cast of the series includes Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu Arata as Zoro, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji and Emily Rudd as Nami. The series premieres on August 31st on Netflix.
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a body made of rubber after eating the magical fruit Gomu Gomu no Mi (the Rubber Fruit). Since he was inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Shanks the Red, Luffy decided to become a pirate and sail on a journey across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the Pirate King.
