Oricon reported that the 100th volume of the One Piece manga sold 1.173 million printed copies, ranking first on the company's weekly comic chart for the week of August 30 to September 5 .
The series has ranked 50 consecutive volumes at number one since Oricon began publishing the weekly comics chart in March 2008. It is the only work to release a volume at number one every year in the chart's 14-year existence.
The first volume of One Piece to be ranked on the chart was the 50th volume, released on June 16, 2008. One Piece is the series with the highest number of millions of volumes sold in print since 2008, above Attack on Titan in second place with 34 volumes, Naruto comes right after, occupying the third place with 31 volumes.
Author Eiichiro Oda began serializing the One Piece manga in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump on July 19, 1997.
