The hardest thing about voice acting for anime is knowing that no matter how much you love a project, how much you try to do it justice, there will still be people who hate it. I appreciate the kindness from the community. I will always do my best for the characters I voice. ???? pic.twitter.com/NF1EbLnxbc

In episode 7 of Oshi no Ko, Akane begins acting to create a persona similar to Ai Hoshino . This way, she surprises all her colleagues, especially Aqua, when she returns to the reality show. In the English version, some American viewers were unhappy with Kristen McGuire's voice acting in this scene.
Check out the reviews:
- I have nothing against the English voice actress, but to play someone like Akane you really need that shy, whispery voice, even in that scene where she imitates Ai's voice.
- It's also a matter of sound mixing. It's horrible. The dubbing director is new, and I think the sound editor is too.
So they particularly criticized the dubbing of the scene where Akane plays Ai. However, the voice actress also commented after receiving negative reviews to say how dedicated she is to doing a good job.
"The hardest thing about being an anime voice actress is knowing that no matter how much you love a project and how hard you work to get it right, there will always be people who hate it. I appreciate the community's kindness. I will always give my best to the characters I play."
