Oshi no Ko became the biggest highlight of this anime season because many otakus fell in love with its creative and intriguing story. In her interview with Anime Trending , Kanna Hirayama is asked a question related to the design of the main characters and their striking eyes. The director is aware that star pupils are the essence of the characters, so she worked to make them very detailed and beautiful in the anime.

“The stars need to be done right, but also… The eyelashes. I was very interested about the eyelashes and their color too.

The upper part of the pupil has a bright color and the line is drawn straight. The reason behind this is when the eyes or eyelashes are pointed downwards, if the top part of the bright colored pupil is dark then the eyelashes are difficult to see. So, I decided to put a light color in the middle to increase the contrast.

When you color an animation, it becomes a color. The amount of information from manga to anime is reduced. Therefore, by increasing the number of colors, you can achieve a manga-like effect.

Here is an art where you can see the eyelashes pointing downwards. As I just said, the light purple is used to make it stand out.”

Furthermore, she is asked how she got involved with the project and the director reveals that she was responsible for recommending the Oshi no Ko manga for an anime adaptation.

“Previously at Doga Kobo, I worked on an anime called SELECTION PROJECT as a character designer and later when I spoke to the producer, Kobayashi-san, about what we are going to work on next, Kobayashi-san asked me if there is a manga or something which I particularly like. I said, “I like Oshi no Ko, it’s very interesting.”

Synopsis:

The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old “ Idol ” named Ai Hoshin . But one fine day Hoshino appears at her office, however, saying that she is pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. But Idol doesn't want to have an abortion, she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe birth. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure would result in his premature death or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in the lap of his beloved idol, Gorou discovers that he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, the newborn son of Ai! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversy, where talent doesn't always bring success.

Therefore, Akasaka and Yokoyari started the manga in Shueisha 's Salto Jovem in 2020. Furthermore, the publisher published the sixth volume of the compiled book in November 2021.
