YouTube channel for the anime Oshi no Ko - scenes documentary this Thursday (4). The first episode covers pre-production, script (referred to as “scenario” in the video), character design and concept art for the series. The documentary is available with English subtitles.

If you were curious to know why the first episode is 90 minutes long, the anime team explains why here. To quote producer Shimpei Yamashita:
To begin with, we are all big fans of the manga. We didn't want to cut any important scenes or dialogue just to fit it into the common anime format.
Director Daisuke Hiramaki added that they didn't want to split volume one into multiple episodes. It was agreed from the beginning to make one longer episode that could be shown as a TV special or in theaters.
The team also explained that they received a lot of input from the manga creators, Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, especially regarding aspects like character designs and background art. The creators provided extra context for many of the design choices in the original manga, such as why certain characters have stars in their eyes. For any fans wondering what those stars mean, the anime team has chosen not to explain for now.
The anime adaptation of Oshi no Ko premiered in Japan on April 12th with a 90-minute first episode. HIDIVE is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan. The company previously stated that the anime has become the number 1 series in the platform's history.
Synopsis
The story follows a doctor named Gorou, a fan of a 16-year-old idol named Ai Hoshin. One day, Hoshino appears at his office, claiming to be pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. However, the idol refuses; she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his premature death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in his beloved idol's arms, Gorou discovers he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.
