Spoiler warning : The anime Oshi no Ko begins with a one and a half hour special to give a complete introduction to the character Ai Hoshino and impact viewers with her tragic death at the end of the episode. However, Aka Akasaka , the manga's writer, revealed that he had no plans to discard Ai early on in the story.
Oshi no Ko – Creator reveals the reason for discarding Ai Hoshino
In 2021, Aka Akasaka commented in an interview with Livedoor News about the experience of creating the manga Oshi no Ko and developing its story. The mangaka is also asked whether the scene in which Ai is stabbed by a stalker fan was planned from the beginning, but he admits that the decision to kill the character came during the manga's progress.

“In fact, this is an idea that was born during the serialization. At first, it was planned that Ai and the kids would be active in the entertainment world for a long time, but when I actually started drawing, Ai was too strong for a manga character.”
Synopsis:
The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old “ Idol ” named Ai Hoshin . But one fine day Hoshino appears at her office, however, saying that she is pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. But Idol doesn't want to have an abortion, she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe birth. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure would result in his premature death or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in the lap of his beloved idol, Gorou discovers that he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, the newborn son of Ai! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversy, where talent doesn't always bring success.
Therefore, Akasaka and Yokoyari started the manga in Shueisha 's Salto Jovem in 2020. Furthermore, the publisher published the sixth volume of the compiled book in November 2021.
