Oshi no Ko – New episode of the anime brings important notice to fans

Oshi no Ko doesn't hold back when it comes to showing the dark reality of content creators, and this is even more evident in the anime's new episode. Spoiler alert : This episode featured very sensitive content regarding depression and suicide. Therefore, the anime issued a Warning on the subject.

Episode 6 of Oshi no Ko focuses on new character Akane Kurokawa , a young actress trying to make it in the entertainment industry. However, her career is derailed when she accidentally injures a colleague's face on a reality show. After suffering from online bullying, Akane falls into a deep depression and contemplates suicide at the end of the episode.

The episode then introduces the contact for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline , a suicide prevention network in the United States. The notice appears in the episode precisely to offer help to viewers going through something similar to Akane.

Synopsis:

The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old idol named Ai Hoshino . One day, Hoshino shows up at his office, claiming she's pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. The idol doesn't want to abort; she wants both children. So Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his untimely death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in his beloved idol's arms, Gorou discovers he's been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino , Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.

Thus , Akasaka and Yokoyari started the manga in Shueisha 's Salto Jovem in 2020. In addition, volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
