Oshi no Ko and Kaguya-sama: Love is War are two manga series created by the same author, Aka Akasaka . Some fans may not even know, but both series are set in the same universe, with Oshi no Ko taking place a few years after the story of Kaguya-sama.

Aka Akasaka himself confirmed that Oshi no Ko takes place in the same universe as Kaguya-sama in a tweet made in August 2021. He commented on this in a question and answer session.

"Oshi no Ko takes place a few years after the end of Kaguya-sama: Love is War, and it seems that the members of the Shuchiin Academy Student Council are now members of society."

Furthermore, the author has already presented some references to Kaguya-sama in Oshi no Ko that prove the coexistence of the series. For example, a few episodes ago, Aqua Hoshino participated in the adaptation for a manga called Sweet Today . In Kaguya-sama, Shirogane and Ishigami mention this manga as a very moving story.

Kaguya-sama also features a mention of " B-Komachi ," the idol group that Ai Hoshino was a part of while she was alive. In one chapter of the manga, Ishigami goes to karaoke with Tsubame, where they sing a song by the group.

Although it hasn't been confirmed yet, it seems there's also a family connection between two characters from the series. In Oshi no Ko, Ruby Hoshino has a classmate named Frill Shiranui . Meanwhile, Ishigami and Miko have a classmate named Koromo Shiranui , who shares the same last name. In this sense, the characters could be sisters or have another type of kinship.

Finally, the most obvious reference comes from a special chapter of Oshi no Ko published in August 2022. Ruby receives a weekly magazine for which she did a photoshoot, and she specifically mentions the photographer. It turns out that Ruby and Aqua's photographer was Kaguya Shirogane .

Thus , Akasaka and Yokoyari began the manga in Shueisha 's Young Jump in 2020. Volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
