Game developer 5pb. (Mages) has released the second promotional video for Corpse Party: Tortured Souls -Bōgyaku Sareta Tamashii no Jukyō-, an OVA inspired by the Corpse Party horror game trilogy, for PSP. The video premiered at Anime Contents Expo in March.

The anime will have 4 episodes that will arrive on July 24th, in 2 volumes on DVD or 1 Blu-Ray. The anime will also be shown in Osaka on July 15, together with Team GrisGris, Makoto Kedōin and Akira Iwanaga, the directors, MAGES Yasuhiko Nomura, producer of Mages, and voice actress Yumi Hara (Satsuki Mizuhara). Asami Imai contributed to the opening theme “Hoshikuzu no Ring” (Stardust Ring).

The game had inspired another OVA called Corpse Party: Missing Footage, which came bundled with this year's limited edition of Corpse Party -The Anthology- Sachiko no Renai Yūgi ♥ Hysteric Birthday 2U. Both OVAs feature the same cast: Kira Iwanaga is the general director, Seiki Tanaka as chief animation director and character designer and Shoichi Sato, in charge of the scripts.

The original game, produced by Team GrisGris tells the story of a group of students trapped in a school, where they are haunted by a missing child. The new anime begins with Naomi and Seiko waking up in the middle of an abandoned school, without the slightest idea of where they are, or what happened to their other classmates. For some reason, they are trapped in this school, with no way of escaping.

XSEED Games released the original version of the game for PSP in North America and Europe.

The 1st promotional video was released in December:
